Abstract

The process of writing letters is thousands of years old, not centuries. In ancient times, letters were sent to distant places through birds. Among these birds, the name of the pigeon is noteworthy. For this purpose, these pigeons were well nourished as well as intensively trained. Similarly, the practice of conveying the feelings of human beings and situations by writing a letter to their beloved is very old. Poets in their poetry have described the process of writing a letter to beloved one and then this poetry has been transformed into songs by many singers through the stages of song. In this research, the Urdu songs sung in Pakistan and India have been described, in which the poets have expressed their feelings of love through writing the letters to their beloved.
