A Sociological Study of Shaukat Siddiqui's Fictional Collection 'Kamiyagar'

Abstract

The name of Shaukat Siddiqui is important in Urdu fiction.Through his writings, he painstakingly described all the virtues and defects found in the society. Shaukat Siddiqui is one of the creators who were eyewitness of the conditions of the establishment of Pakistan. The critical or creative consciousness of any writer or creator is associated with his era.  The political, economic, social, religious and especially social conditions in this period affect the mind of every conscious person.  When Shaukat Siddiqui came to Pakistan, he did not only look at riots or migration etc. In his writings, but each of his stories also indicates many themes. All the creations of Shaukat Siddiqui have made an attempt to present social attitudes very boldly. In this paper, an attempt will be made to study his fictional collection "KimiyaGar" in a social context. Because when we study the bitter social attitudes presented by Shaukat Siddiqui, we realize that the literature has been the interpreter of his attitudes and his confusion .These are not only the words from the pen of Shaukat Siddiqui, but every sensitive writer who feels the social bitterness and social problems has done Jihad through his pen.
