A Research Study on the Types, Rulings, and Conditions of Magic (Sihr) in Light of Tafseer Fath ul Aziz

Abstract

Shah Abdul Aziz Muhaddith Dehlvi (may Allaah have mercy on him) explained the rulings of magic and its types in the light of verse 102 of Surah Al-Baqarah. It  has been discussed in  the light of the Qur'an that the role of Satan in learning the magic of the Jews and in bringing them to this work and bringing them to disbelief has also been described very well. In this verse, it is also discussed to show strange deeds by taking knowledge from the people of Babylon and Haroot and Maroot. The orders of the People of Babylon had prepared six talsams in the city of Babylon in the time of Nimrod, their details are mentioned here. After explaining the types of magic in detail, Shah Sahib has mentioned fifteen conditions of kufriyya magic and in addition to this, he has mentioned the famous eight types of magic and mentioned the efforts of the Ummah Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to reform them. It   has also been mentioned what magic the Jews learned in these types and what was the custom with them, and what was the difference between the magic of Harut and Marut and  the magic of the Babylonians, it was also presented with great research. Shah Sahib has also presented this discussion in a much researched manner.
