Abstract

Getting benefit from land is one of the basic necessities of human. Islam has given right of ownership of land to human by keeping his necessities in view. There is no limit on ownership of land in Quran and Sunnah. Hazrat Muhammad (saww) has categorically preferred to have resettlement of lands, for he handed over the ownership of it to his companions. However, awarded land is subjected to condition that it doesn't beneficial for common people, for instance, mines of salt. Pakistan posses lands which are not anybody and courts,and religious scholars have also declared them free of ownership. If Pakistan takes certain steps to resettle these lands, they can fulfill the agricultural necessities and earn capital as well.
