Radio Urdu Drama: Art and Technical Review

Abstract

In this paper, a technical review of the radio dramas published in book form after the creation of Pakistan has been done. The medium of radio drama is voice, so sound signals are used for its presentation. From a technical point of view, it includes studio, microphone, recording, directing, acting and voiceover and soundscape stages as part of the script. Under these radio broadcast requirements, the technical characteristics of Urdu radio dramatists are identified. It is admirable that despite the popularity of TV dramas, Urdu dramatists have written very high quality radio dramas. Some technical passages of important plays are also given here in the form of quotations.
