Abstract

Travelogue is the tale of a journey wherein the writer describes his experiences and observations along with his emotions. Yousaf Khan Kambal Posh’s travelogue “ Ajeabat-a-Farang” dates its starts in Urdu. Though numerous travelogues were written after it, yet it never gained the fame and popularity that it gained after 1960. Mustansar Hussain Tarar is one of the leading writers amongst the rest who played a vital role making it recognized as a literary genre. This travelogue “Undlas Main Ajnabee”, published in 1972 not only fulfills his long-lasting wish but also reflects Islamic culture and civilization. It is an important milestone in highlighting Islamic history, culture and civilization. No doubt his travelogue “Undlas Main Ajnabi” rediscovers the indelible impressions of Islamic culture and civilization that the Muslims left in Undlas. It contains fundamental importance amongst all other travelogues written with the aforesaid motto.
